sometimes you get help from the unexpected
angels & vermin
sometimes need is the abortion of a dream
kicking in the empty gut & throat ache
life was a dream; a nightmare of God
the ledge over the full river
this is winter, rain, a curse comes from everywhere
a wind, a breeze, a word, “we’re all a little too skinny”
around here; in sickness, in feverish walks
to try to shake it off, “nobody will know if you do it . . .
secrets are a solace & anonymity hits the doorstep
the water flows, the face is pale white fish skin
see the rhythm & become. Cease. A gift, an exit
an accident, a sickness, sharing plagues, bighting
the swelled tongue, stop the projector, throw a stick in the spokes
fall. water knows.
predestined, 5th grade hash, always been my life
old-timer, me too?
before we deliver your pizza we get high in the walk-in
stare at your wife, curse your children, pie hours
nothing feels like work. but the angel arrives in red stocking cap
booming voice. says a prayer & a good night's rest
wake up dripping, take my seat on the bank & watch.

"pie hours"
That really stands out. I dig it. I'm guessing it refers to the busy time for delivery guys at night... I'm not sure and not being sure opens it up to a wider interpretation. It is so laden with options that it intrigues. I favor that last paragraph, and want to find out what "pie hours" feel like.
I don't know what it means, but its suprisingly attractive.
